Yes it’s true, there’s a Vegan Mexican out there!
I’ve heard several times, ” How is it possible for you to be a vegan if you’re Mexican?”, and I always reply with a laugh because it’s such a misconception that Mexicans only eat meat. In fact, our ancestors used to eat a mostly plant-based diet.
I will admit, however, that when I first became vegan I wasn’t sure what to eat. Thankfully my father happens to be an amazing chef who specializes in vegan food, so I lucked out.Unfortunately not many individuals who decide to become vegans have that same luck.
I became a vegan after reading excerpts from Slaughterhouse. I couldn’t get through many of those stories without feeling sadness and disgust. However, feelings alone weren’t going to improve the lives of farmed animals, and so I decided that day to become a vegan.
It’s been 4 years since that day and I believe it’s one of the most important decisions I’ve made thus far. I now have an immense amount of energy that I never had before. I decided to start this blog to share my experiences and maybe help those who are thinking of becoming vegan to make it an easier transition. I hope that you find this blog useful whether you’re vegan, omnivore, mexican, etc.
Thanks for taking the time to check out what I’m lovingly sharing with all of you.
ps: I’m located in Los Angeles, CA USA so many of the things I share will be local.
